PHOTOS: Opening day for Market at the Barn

Friday evening was opening day for Market at the Barn, a mini farmers’ market at the old barn next to Village Square Park.  Barn owner Suzanne Bird plans to hold the event every Friday this summer from 4pm to 7pm.  All photos by Barry Gray.

PHOTOS: Redcoats and muskets mark Father’s Day at Goulbourn Museum

The Goulbourn Museum welcomed dads and families for a special “Father’s Day Flashback” event on Sunday, June 18. The 100th Regiment of Foot reenactment group was on hand teaching participants how to load and fire a musket, along with historical re-enactors from a number of different eras. PHOTOS: Arts in the Park at Village Square

The sky was overcast but spirits were bright on Sunday for the annual Arts in the Park event, presented by the Stittsville Village Association. Over 90 vendors participated this year in a vibrant display of art, music, food, books, gardening, theatre, history and lots more!

PHOTOS: Parade of Lights electrifies Stittsville Main

Thousands flocked to Stittsville Main Street on Saturday night for the annual Parade of Lights, presented by the Stittsville Village Association. This year’s parade featured over 60 entries.  The weather was perfect, with snow on the ground but not too cold.

After the parade, Santa stuck around to help with the official tree lighting ceremony at Village Square Park, organized by the Stittsville Lions Club.  The Lions also walked the parade route collecting donations for the Stittsville Food Bank. There was even a marriage proposal by a firefighter during the parade!

It was worth the wait! This year’s Arts in the Park had to be rescheduled after being totally washed out in June.  Dozens of artists and vendors packed Village Square Park for the annual event on Sunday, presented by the Stittsville Village Association.  Barry Gray was there with his camera to capture some of the fun.
