The Goulbourn Museum welcomed dads and families for a special “Father’s Day Flashback” event on Sunday, June 18. The 100th Regiment of Foot reenactment group was on hand teaching participants how to load and fire a musket, along with historical re-enactors from a number of different eras. The sky was overcast but spirits were bright on Sunday for the annual Arts in the Park event, presented by the Stittsville Village Association. Over 90 vendors participated this year in a vibrant display of art, music, food, books, gardening, theatre, history and lots more!
Thousands flocked to Stittsville Main Street on Saturday night for the annual Parade of Lights, presented by the Stittsville Village Association. This year’s parade featured over 60 entries. The weather was perfect, with snow on the ground but not too cold.
After the parade, Santa stuck around to help with the official tree lighting ceremony at Village Square Park, organized by the Stittsville Lions Club. The Lions also walked the parade route collecting donations for the Stittsville Food Bank. There was even a marriage proposal by a firefighter during the parade!
Hundreds of people came out to see hundreds of creatively carved pumpkins on a warm November night at Village Square Park. It was all part of the annual Stittsville Pumpkin Parade. Congrats to organizer Trevor Eggleton and volunteers for another very successful event. Continue reading →
