Two Stittsville students are wrapping up a second succesful season for their swimming lesson business.
Caitlin (above left) and Kylie Negus taught about 150 students this summer at Stittsville Swim, a business they run in the backyard of their parents’ home in Granite Ridge. Caitlin, 19 and Kylie, 17, started the business in 2013 after hearing about a similar program in Oshawa.
About 200 kids and parents watched the Ottawa Fury FC practice on Tuesday night at Walter Baker Park. The interactive event was hosted by the West Ottawa Soccer Club and included free t-shirts, the Fury mascot Sparky, and an autograph session with players.
Repairs to fix mould, leaks, rust, and structural integrity issues will delay the re-opening of the Goulbourn Recreation Complex pool until at least May 2015. That’s the earliest you’ll be able to swim or take lessons at the facility.
Goulbourn Recreation Complex gyms and activity rooms will be closed for annual maintenance from August 30 until September 5. The work includes cleaning and painting of the facility. The arena part of the facility will remain open. The front desk at the GRC will be open to accept registrations, or you can register online here.
