First edition of “La course des Patriotes” takes place October 29

École secondaire catholique Paul-Desmarais

École secondaire catholique Paul-Desmarais, Stittsville’s new French Catholic high school, is planning the inaugural edition of La course des Patriotes on October 29.

It’s partly an effort to promote youth fitness and healthy lifestyles for their students, and partly give back to the community via a food donation drive.  The event will include 2km, 5km, and 10km races. It’s mandatory for students, but also open to the entire community.

Race Day Schedule:
7:45am – 8:45am Race bib pick-up at Paul-Desmarais (5315 Abbott Street East)
8:45am – Greetings
9:00am – Race departures
11:00am – End of event

The event is free for Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) students, and there’s a $10 fee for all other participants.  Everyone running is asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Stittsville Food Bank. Click here to register.

The races begin and end at the front of l’école secondaire catholique Paul-Desmarais on Abbott Street. The races will take place on Abbott, Shea, Robert Grant et Fernbank street. Roads will be closed during the races.

(Participants are also welcome to walk the 2k family course that takes place on the Trans-Canada trail, parallel to Abbott street.)
