Canadian singer-songwriter Oh Susanna (aka Suzie Ungerleider) will play an intimate show at Quitters this Sunday night: “Folk Crossing Borders: An amazing co-bill featuring renowned and featuring Oh Susanna performing with UK folk duo Hannah Sanders and Ben Savage. Incredible melodies. Beautiful harmonies. Top notch songwriting. $25 ticket Doors: 7:00PM Showtime: 7:30PM.” More information via Facebook…
Maybe she’ll be joined for a couple songs by Stittsville’s Jim Bryson? The two are frequent collaborators, both on stage and in the studio. The pair have launched a Kickstarter campaign to support production of a new Oh Susanna album called A Girl in Teen City, described as “an album of new songs set in the 1980s, starring a teenage punk girl named Suzie”.
From the Kickstarter page:
“We are making this project independently – without big corporate sponsorship or advances. Even small records cost about $30,000 because no one should work for free. Musicians, producers, engineers, studios, photographers, designers, manufacturers will be paid with the money raised for this project. So we thank you for your generosity. If we reach beyond our goal it will help further the project by helping us go on tour, publicize the album and maybe press a vinyl record or two. We can’t wait to make this music and send it out to you.
Suzie & Jim”
