Proposed street name change will honour Stittsville pioneer Robert Grant

Notice is being provided to the public that a proposal has been submitted to change the name of an existing highway (public street).

Current name: avenue Founder Avenue
Proposed name: avenue Robert Grant Avenue

Reason for proposed name change: The proposed name Robert Grant commemorates two individuals – Robert Grant (1793-1870) and Robert H. Grant (1860-1930) – who played an important role in the history and development of Goulbourn (Stittsville ward) where the street is located.

The staff report will be considered by the City of Ottawa Planning Committee on January 20, 2015. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Champlain Room, City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa.
