Earlier this week we published an article about the “Welcome to Stittsville” graffiti on Stittsville Main Street in front of the Harris law office. Turns out the majority of residents are quite fond of the painting. I ran a follow-up poll on Facebook and 53% of the respondents favour keeping it as-is. Continue reading

Councillor Shad Qadri will ask his colleagues at City Council to support a motion calling for Canada Post to recognize addresses in his ward as being in Stittsville, instead of Kanata.
Currently, a large segment of homes and businesses that are technically part of the City of Ottawa’s Stittsville Ward are still considered to be Kanata addresses by Canada Post, leading to what Qadri calls “mass confusion” for residents. Continue reading
City of Ottawa staff acknowledge that a section of West Ridge Drive isn’t up to current pedestrian safety standards, but there are no plans to fix it.
Most of West Ridge has sidewalks on both sides of the road, but one section that doesn’t is a stretch of about 160 metres on the west side between Sable Run Drive and Steggall Crescent. That sidewalk-free stretch is also home neighbourhood’s community mailbox. Continue reading
