Via Ottawa Fire: “Ottawa Fire Services received a 911 call reporting fire in an attached garage at a single detached residence at 31 Wintergreen Drive on December 12 at 7:35pm. Upon arrival fire fighters gained entry to the garage and reported heavy smoke conditions. The vehicle in the garage was not involved. A small fire which had self extinguished was determined accidental. Damage is estimated at $5,000 for contents and $5,000 for building. No one will be displaced and there were no injuries.” Continue reading

Starting in the summer of 2017, Hydro Ottawa will be conducting a duct structure and manhole project in the Stittsville area.
Structures built around or over manholes could impede access for replacement/repairs, and may be required to be removed. Vegetation may also have to be removed. Continue reading

UPDATE, JULY 25: Option B received 66% of the votes. “I personally liked both concepts and find the nature theme does go well with the park name. I support this option going forward and look forward to the next steps for this project. As updates such as final approval and construction timelines arise, I will be providing them to the community in my e-column. Please stay tuned and thank you for participating in this process,” wrote Qadri in an email to residents.
The following layout plans and concept images depict two options for play equipment replacements at Wyldewood Park. Both play equipment options offer opportunities for climbing, hanging, balancing, swinging, crawling, and sliding, as well as socializing and cognitive activities. Both options also include an accessible asphalt path, asphalt ramps into the play areas, engineered wood fiber safety surfacing in play areas, a new accessible park bench, and a new accessible sand box with a widened edge for seating.
