With the financing firmly in place and design plans in the City’s hands, the new Stittsville public high school is now another step closer to being built. The City has approved the Site Plan Councillor Glen Gower told Stittsville Central on September 7th. The status on the proposed new high school can now definitely be changed from proposed to ‘it is happening’.

The school design is being developed by the architectural firm of Edward J Cuhaci & Associates, who have designed a number of schools in Stittsville and the Ottawa area.

Back in 2019 when we questioned Lynn Scott, of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), on the status of the high school, she assured us that, ““the project timeline for the new Stittsville high school is on schedule for a 2022 opening. If we can get the school built sooner, we will”.

Stittsville residents and students have been looking forward to this day for some time. Their efforts have finally brought Stittsville’s public high school another day closer to opening.
