All That Glam raises thousands for DueNORTH breakfast programs

The annual All That Glam (ATG) fundraising event is over for this year, but not the work for the affiliated non-profit organization DueNORTH Canada. The organization provides necessary and nutritious breakfast programs to children in Nunavut.

Mother Karen and daughter Eva von Jagow of Stittsville began All That Glam seven years ago after Eva realized that so many children in the North were going to school without the proper nutrition required to start their day. Eva felt this was a ‘social injustice’.

Karen was pleased to tell Stittsville Central that this year’s All That Glam event was the most successful so far — with a total of over $28,000 raised in the short 6-hour period that the sale took place. Karen cheerfully said, “Those funds will support an entire breakfast program in Arviat for a year. We are very thrilled with that amount, and I know the school will be as well.”

Albeit Eva couldn’t be here for this year’s event, she is diligently working for DueNORTH and is “thrilled with the amount!”

With long-term plans to establish breakfast programs in all 25 communities across Nunavut, the ATG team are well on the way to accomplish this endeavour. Eventually, once the breakfast programs are in place, DueNORTH will be seeking a long-term commitment from donors to assist in supporting the program.

The scale of the All That Glam fundraiser grows every year. Due to its success, ATG will be collecting donated purses and jewellery throughout the year.
