You have all been reading about the success of Bell Warriors former team players – Adam Cowan and Michael Hoecht – both going on to be drafted by the big-time leagues. The non-profit Warriors Football Club believe that instilling and reinforcing strong values in their youth, along with an opportunity to succeed in their post-secondary education will empower youth to make a positive impact with their lives.
For this reason, the Warriors are again offering two Jim Wagdin Post-Secondary Scholarships for 2020. This is the 22nd year that these scholarships have been offered bringing a total of $40,000 presented towards post-secondary education for Warriors alumni.
“The Warriors value community, education and empowering our youth to make a positive impact with their lives. The COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t change that commitment!” said Paul Stewart, President of Bell Warriors.
Despite the fact that the Club is experiencing some fiscal challenges, they realize that introducing and reinforcing the value of community, education and positive actions, along with the continuation of the Jim Wagdin Scholarship Program, is instrumental to the success of their players.
Stewart went on to say, “we are in our 65th season of providing our football program and we believe strongly that actions have to speak louder than words at this difficult time that we are all trying to face. So many of our alumni will have a tough time finding jobs to support their education. If this isn’t the right time to show our support of our youth, then I don’t know what is. We support our Bell Warriors football players on and off the field and that especially means now.”
