City holding virtual town hall on COVID-19 – April 9, 2020

The City of Ottawa invites all residents to participate in the April 9 virtual Town Hall to address emerging concerns and questions on the COVID-19 pandemic. The town hall will take place at 2:00 pm.

Mayor Jim Watson will be the moderator for a discussion panel with the following participants:

  • Dr. Vera Etches, Medical Officer of Health
  • Keith Egli, Chair of the Ottawa Board of Health
  • Peter Sloly, Chief of Ottawa Police Services
  • Anthony Di Monte, General Manager of Emergency and Protective Services
  • Steve Kanellakos, City Manager

The discussion can be viewed through various venues — on the City of Ottawa Youtube channelon RogersTV Cable 22 or on the RogersTV website.

  1. What a disappointment that was. They all got together for just 60 minutes – spoke for 30 minutes – and allowed 30 minutes for calls which numbered about TEN. There was nothing said than what we didn’t already know – except for the ‘modelling’. I called 5 to 10 minutes after they opened up the phone lines, and sat on hold the entire time until they cut the meeting off at 3 pm.
