The Human Needs Task Force set-up by the City of Ottawa is requesting donations of cloth masks for vulnerable residents.
Wearing a mask adds an extra layer of protection, but is not a replacement for physical distancing said the City. A mask helps to protect others should you have COVID-19 and will reduce the risk of getting infected from others.
The City has some criteria to be met for the type of mask they are asking to be donated. The masks should —
- be made with two layers of tightly woven, but breathable cloth, such as cotton;
- have no seams over the mouth and nose through which air may leak; and,
- ideally be the style with horizontal pleats to help fit a variety of faces.
Should you wish to donate your handmade masks, set-up an appointment for drop off by emailing donations@ottawa.ca.
Further information about masks can be found on both the Ottawa Public Health and Health Canada websites.
The city of Ottawa can go to the store and buy some like everyone else , this leftist culture of abdicating responsibility is sickening.
