This week Councillor Gower focuses his community notes on Halloween, an information meeting for proposed rezoning at 54 Springbrook Road, Campanale Homes clearing their land for the start of construction on 5 Orchard in the Fringewood area, his virtual Q&A coming up October 28 on the City’s budget, and, some COVID-19 updates.
Send your Halloween photos to be shared in next week’s Councillor newsletter
Ottawa Public Health is recommending to not go trick-or-treating this year or to host or attend any Halloween events where people are likely to gather – but there are still lots of ways to celebrate Halloween spirit in our community. I’d like to know how Stittsville residents are celebrating Halloween this year. Is there a haunted house on your street? Do you have a costume you want to show off? What craft or activity is your family doing this year? Send us a photo and let us know at glen.gower@ottawa.ca and we’ll share some of our favourites in next week’s newsletter.
Info meeting for 54 Springbrook
We’re hosting an information meeting for the proposed rezoning of 54 Springbrook Drive in Amberwood on Thursday, October 29 from 11:00am-12:00pm on Zoom. All residents are welcome to attend and ask questions, or you can send questions in advance to glen.gower@ottawa.ca. The meeting will be recorded and posted to YouTube. More info here…
Campanale Homes construction
Campanale Homes is getting set to start building on their land at 5 Orchard, just north of Cloverloft in the Fringewood area. They’ll be clearing trees and vegetation in the next few weeks. They have received a permit from the City to conduct the work, and nearby residents have received a letter in the mail.
Budget 2021: Virtual Q&A on October 28
On October 28 at 7:00pm, I’m joining my City Council colleagues Jenna Sudds (Kanata North) and Allan Hubley (Kanata South) to host a virtual Q&A session on next year’s budget. Mayor Jim Watson and City Treasurer Wendy Stephanson will join us as well. We’ll stream it live on Zoom, Facebook and YouTube – details to come!
