SUMMARY:Daily Event - Atrial Fibrillation and Exercise Study - University o
 f Ottawa Heart Institute
DESCRIPTION:The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is currently recruitin
 g patients at least 40 years of age for a research study which seeks to co
 mpare two exercise training programs or standard of care on exercise capac
 ity and quality of life in patients living with permanent or persistent at
 rial fibrillation.\n\nParticipants will have health measures taken (such a
 s height\, weight\, blood pressure\, and body composition)\, undergo exerc
 ise tests\, and complete questionnaires. They will then be randomly assign
 ed to one of two 12-week exercise training programs (moderate-intensity co
 ntinuous exercise training group\, or high-intensity interval training gro
 up) or standard of care (control group). The exercise sessions will be fre
 e of charge and conducted at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute\n\nW
 e hope this study will provide valuable information on the role of physica
 l activity in improving clinical\, exercise and mental health outcomes in
