 eing Richmond’s 200th celebration\, the Goulbourn Museum staff will be m
 aking a presentation on the history of Richmond. Through their collection 
 of artefacts\, the Museum staff will unearth the history of Richmond and t
 ake us through the significant events that influenced the oldest military 
 settlement into what we know as Richmond nowadays.\n\nAfter the war in 181
 2\, Richmond was a military settlement being recognized as such in 1818. I
 n 1922 the military handed over control of Richmond and many civilians rem
 ained behind and Loyalist settlers arrived. Through their industrious vent
 ures\, the residents of Goulbourn Township were well supported and the are
 a continued to grow.\n\nCome and learn more as the Goulbourn Museum staff 
 share the integral part that Richmond played in our local history and Cana
 da’s. The event is free and refreshments will be served. Bring your fami
 ly\, friends and neighbours as everyone is welcome.
