DESCRIPTION:The next meeting of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Soc
 iety is on Tuesday\, April 18th. The meeting will be held in person at the
  Johnny Leroux Community Arena (second floor)\, 10 Warner-Colpitts Lane\, 
 Stittsville\, at 7:30 pm. If you prefer to attend the meeting on Zoom\, pl

  Zoom link will be sent to you. \nTonight’s topic\, All the Buzz on City
  Bees (and Wasps): Who they are and what they’re up to\, is presented b
 y Lydia Wong\, a PhD candidate in Biology at the University of Ottawa.\nOt
 tawa is home to over 300 bee and wasp species! Some live underground\, oth
 ers collect wool to line their nests\, and still others make their living 
 off of sneaking into the nests of neighbours. Who are these fascinating si
 x-legged fliers and what can we do to make our gardens welcoming to them? 
 Lydia will introduce us to some of our bee and wasp neighbours and discuss
  tips for pollinator-friendly gardens. She will also share with us her rec
 ent research with city bees and wasps. \nWearing a mask is optional during
  the meeting.\nIf you are not a member and would like to attend free as a
