DESCRIPTION:The next meeting of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Soc
 iety is on Tuesday\, September 19th. The meeting will be held in person at
  the Johnny Leroux Community Arena (second floor)\, 10 Warner-Colpitts Lan
 e\, Stittsville\, at 7:30 pm. If you prefer to attend the meeting on Zoom\

  the Zoom link will be sent to you. \nTonight we host Doreen Manley of Sma
 rt as Poop\, Ottawa’s vermicomposting experts. Doreen will teach us how 
 to harness the power of the mighty red wiggler composting worm to turn you
 r household’s organic waste into nature’s most powerful fertilizer. Si
 t back while Smart as Poop removes the “ew” factor and debunks the com
 mon myths associated with vermicomposting. Contrary to popular belief\, ve
 rmicomposting is easy\, odourless\, and requires minimal maintenance. Come

 n of crops kickstarted Doreen’s vermicomposting journey and she hasn’t
  looked back since. Over the past 13 years\, Doreen and her family have tu
 rned their 29 acre property in Stittsville into a self-sustaining farm. Th
 e family’s hobby farm blossomed into a small business selling fresh eggs
 \, chicken\, turkey\, and a wide array of vegetables\, and is now the city
 ’s source of vermicomposting tools\, supplies\, and red wiggler composti
 ng worms. The farm is bursting with life and Doreen vows that it is largel
 y due to vermicompost. \nNow a firm believer in the power of red wigglers\
 , Doreen’s mission is to introduce homes\, educators and students alike 
 to these environmental heroes—the red wigglers themselves—and to help 
 us all do our part in the fight against the climate crisis. \nCome join us
  for a lively presentation. Society members are invited to bring goodies o
 r snacks to share during the meeting. Juice will be available\, so please 
 bring your own mug. There will also be a sharing table for those who wish 
 to share their plants\, seeds\, books\, or supplies.\nIf you are not a mem
