 mpetition
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nThe next meeting of the SGHS will take place on Tues
 day\, February 20 at 7:30pm at the Johnny Leroux Community Arena in the co
 mmunity hall on the second level. You can start arriving around 7:00pm. Th
 ere will be a zoom option available as well starting at 7:30pm.\n\nAt the 
 meeting\, the 2024 Photo Competition\, judged by Judy Fine and the winners
  will be announced.\n\nEach class will be judged separately with the Gilli
 ck Cup being awarded to the Best in Show. The classes being judged are as 
 follows:\n\nClass 1: Purple is the colour of 2023. Spring flowering bulbs\
 , flowers\, grasses\, or wild violets in your lawn. Use your imagination f
 or the colour purple in Spring.\n\nClass 2: Upcycled plant pots. Filled wi
 th vegetables\, herbs\, or flowers. The interesting container is your choi
 ce. Please name your flowers or vegetables.\n\nClass 3:  From September t
 o Frost. Fall Flowers that inspire you such as Asters\, Rudbeckia\, and Co
 neflowers. Include your favourite and please name.\n\nClass 4: Tiny Wings.
  Who is flying in your garden? Moths\, dragonflies\, wasps\, bees and lady
 bugs. Maybe just a household fly?\n\nClass 5: Snow in the garden. Seedhead
 s\, berries\, plumes and ornamental grasses\; find beauty in winter.\n\nCl
 ass 6:  Resting on the Porch.  An outward view of  a yard.\n\nClass 7:
   Art in the garden. Art made in clay\, pottery or stone or metal sculptu
 res.  Mosses on gargoyles\, rocks or birdfeeders. Check out hardscaping a
 nd statues near you.\n\nClass 8:  John Curry Memorial Plaque: A horticult
 ural newsworthy activity photo taken within the Goulbourn area: Stittsvill
 e\, Richmond\, or Munster. Please include your location and details of the
  activity.\n\nIn addition\, we will have a Best in Show (judge’s choice)
  as well. This prize wins the coveted Gillick Cup.
