The Royal Oak is hosting their JOB FAIR from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Hazeldean Gardens Retirement Residence. The Royal Oak is getting ready to open its door at its newest location in the growing community of Stittsville. The Royal Oak will be conducting onsite interviews at that time. The Goulbourn Township Historical Society is holding their Annual General Meeting and luncheon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (2 Mulkins Street) from 12:45 – 2:45 pm. The luncheon starts at 1:00 pm for those who registered. Arrive at 12:45 to hear some Celtic music. The AGM is expected to start at 2:00 pm. It is a good time to renew or purchase a membership to your local Historical Society.
The Bell Warriors Football Club is hosting their two annual team banquets and with both, will be hosting their Annual Silent Auction Fundraisers. The Saturday banquet starts at 8:00 pm at The Ale Restaurant – the Sunday banquet is at 11:00 am. Stop in to see the items up for auction and support the Bell Warriors — a 100% volunteer-based community football program offering football programs for boys and girls ages 5-23 in the communities of Stittsville, Munster, Richmond, Bells Corners, Bayshore, and Crystal Beach.

Sunday’s auditions are being held at Bridlewood Trails Retirement Residence, 480 Brigatta Street, Kanata. Public Meeting – The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board – from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Westwind Public School (111 Hartsmere Drive). The public meeting is being held to discuss overcrowding at John Young Elementary School. The school board is considering relocating some kindergarten and Grade 1 students who live in the Fernbank area from John Young to Westwind starting in September 2020. The Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society monthly meeting will be entertained with speaker, Lee Boltwood, Master Gardener and Board Director, who will be doing a talk on “Cheap and Easy Gardening Techniques”. Who doesn’t want to save money when it comes to our favourite pastime? Lee brings a selection of practical ideas that will be invaluable when we’re finally able to get into our gardens. She always interjects her talks with a fair amount of humour! Lee also wants to hear from YOU! So bring along your own ideas about money-saving gardening hacks.
