We are very much looking forward to having David back in the shop this Friday.

David daCosta is a singer/songwriter based in Ottawa, and he has entertained us well on several previous occasions here in Gaia Java. He attended the University of Ottawa completing his B.A. in Theatre and Music in 2009, and recently completed his Grade 10 piano (RCM). (In fact last time he came in the shop he played a great classical piece by Debussy!)

He self-produced his first LP, A Place to Start in 2010, and the album features 14 original songs, drawing upon his acoustic/folk inspirations. After pursuing life as both a musician and actor on Canada’s West coast, he returned to his hometown, Ottawa, with new songs under his belt. Currently, he has been performing regularly in local coffeehouses, and last July performed on the Main Stage at Stittsville’s Canada Day Celebration. His newest songs maintain the same lyrical sentiment and passion for story telling displayed in his earliest work.

Drop by to hear an acoustic performance of some of David’s original tunes, possibly with a few covers from people like the Beatles, Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen, Jason Mraz, Simon and Garfunkel and others. You can hear some of his original tracks at his website at: www.daviddacostamusic.com

No entry charge for purchasing customers, but remember the best seats go first, and we put out a ‘donations’ jar so that appreciative customers can contribute to the well-being of the marvellous musicians who come to entertain us.
See more details at www.gaiajava.ca where you can also see the listing of upcoming music night performers over the next few weeks – everything from High School students and University undergrads to Seasoned professionals who are willing to come and share their talents with you.
