Goulbourn Museum is hiring for the summer

The Goulbourn Museum staff are looking forward to in-person visits and delivering their programs when they re-open in the spring. We’ll keep you posted on this. With re-opening in mind, the Museum is currently seeking three post-secondary students to fill summer positions to assist with collections, programs, as well as, social media and administration.

The following are the positions with links to the requirements and further information:

Collections Assistant: Duties include working with the collection, cataloguing artefacts, supporting research requests, and daily operations.

Program Assistant: Duties include the development and delivery of public programs and events and facilitating visitor experiences.

Assistant Museum Administrator: Duties include updating social media channels and website, supporting communications and marketing, and assisting with operational administration.

Applications are required by Sunday, March 27 and should include a detailed cover letter and resumé sent to – manager@goulbournmuseum.ca.

Not only are summer positions available, the Museum always welcomes volunteers to assist in a variety of functions. This is a great opportunity for students to obtain volunteer hours and add this experience to your resumé. If any residents have some spare time, this is a wonderful way to give back to local history. Currently, there are opportunities in the following areas:

  • Collections / Accessioning
  • Genealogical / Local history research
  • Historical re-enactor at special events
  • Marketing, Fundraising, Administration
  • Assisting at community events
  • Assisting at craft events for children
  • Landscaping / Outside maintenance
