Guitar-vocal jazz duo at Gaia Java this Friday

Betty Ann Bryanton & Pierre Monfils
Betty Ann Bryanton & Pierre Monfils

It is great to have Betty Ann Bryanton coming in to sing again, and this time she returns in collaboration with jazz guitar stalwart Pierre Monfils who has played Gaia Java on several occasions. The duo will perform predominantly an evening of jazz, with some blues thrown in and maybe a pop tune or two.

Betty Ann and Pierre have enjoyed performing together in Ottawa and Gatineau. The two share a love of jazz standards and lots of laughter. Patrons who’ve seen them play together love their beautiful and tasteful interpretations, as well as their comedic interplay. Betty Ann is known for her warm and clear voice; Pierre, for his thoughtful and gorgeous guitar. They are both enthusiastic song-makers, not only striving to do more than “just play” a song, but to add in elements of surprise, going outside of the jazz genre to add songs that are equally beautiful in their genre.

You can discover and hear more about Betty Ann at her website: http://bettyannbryanton.com/

The music nights start at 7pm, and as usual there is no charge, but we do have a ‘jar’ for donations to support the musicians, and we hope that you will buy a drink or two (and maybe something tasty to eat!)

See more details at www.gaiajava.ca where you can also review the listing of upcoming music night performers over the next month or so – everything from University students to seasoned professionals who are willing to come and share their talents with you.

Betty Ann Bryanton with Pierre Monfils are at Gaia Java on Stittsville Main Street on Friday, October 9 at 7:00pm.
