This January, Ottawa Public Library (OPL), in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will be offering Tax Benefits and Credits Info Clinics, a series of nine helpful and informative workshops on tax-related topics to the public.
A bilingual outreach officer from the CRA will lead nine info clinics at OPL branches throughout the city: eight sessions will be in English and one in French but customers are welcome to ask questions in the official language of their choice. The clinics will let people know about benefits and credits to which they are entitled, including valuable information on benefits and credit entitlements for older adults, people experiencing disabilities, newcomers, and more. Each session includes a question period where individuals can ask more specifically about benefits that may apply to them.
Registration is recommended. Drop-ins are welcome!
The Stittsville Clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 23 from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Grace Thompson Meeting Room of the Stittsville Library. You can find out more and register at: https://biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/event/tax-benefits-and-credits-info-clinic-0
Coming soon, OPL will host free tax clinics at some Library branches through the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Check the OPL or CRA website in February and March for details.
