EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER Knights of Columbus hold their last FUNdraiser of August on the 29th

The Stittsville Knights of Columbus, along with Grand Knight, Joseph Carbonetto, should be extremely pleased with the amount of donations that have been raised throughout the month of August during their FUNdraiser in the Park market events. To date, and with one more August FUNdraiser to go, the Knights can proudly say they have raised for three charities an amount well over $1,500.00. The amount raised will be shared among The Stittsville Foodbank, Chrysalis House and the Holy Spirit Parish Youth Group for their activities. They are also working hard to raise another $500.00 to put towards a bursary for a 2022 graduate at Sacred Heart High School.

Joseph told Stittsville Central, “our vendors and creators have struggled this past year, and I am so pleased to share with you that they have made over $8,000.00 in revenue during these markets – and our last market has yet to happen on August 29. During the month, I was so delighted to see both our old and new vendors share their wonderful creations with Stittsville residents. Because of these markets and support from our Stittsville businesses, some vendors are creating their products locally now.”

Joseph added, “as well, visitors from outside of the community have supported our valued Stittsville Main Street businesses by visiting the shops bringing sales to them.” While we have his attention, Joseph also wants to thank some important locals who have helped immensely with the success of the markets! “Many thanks to Stittsville Glass and Sign owners Luc and Nancy Therrien for their support; Stittsville Market@TheBarn for your sage advice; and, especially all the student volunteers who have assisted us so far – we would not be here without your conscientious help. We hope your experience will give you the extra knowledge to fuel your entrepreneur/career goals.”

The August 29nd FUNdraiser will be in support of Holy Spirit Youth Program and the Sacred Heart High School Student Bursary – after the costs for park rental and pizza for the volunteers has been deducted from the funds.

The vendors at the August 29 FUNdraiser in the Park will be:
