LEGION: New Year’s Eve Party, January 1 Open House, more

Here’s what’s coming up at the Stittsville Legion in the coming weeks…

EUCHRE: On Tuesday, November 28th, Euchre was played at the Stittsville Legion. John Pentol had the most Lone Hands. Theresa Giolway had the Ladies High Score with Doris O’Conner placing second.The Men’s High Score was won by Gary Doe with Davis Faubert as the runner-up. Charlotte Jermyn won the Low Score with Doris O’Conner winning the Hidden Score.

INFORMATION
The next book club will be held on Monday, January 22nd The book of the month will be “Pope Joan” by Donna Woolfolk Cross. There will be NO book club in the month of December

WEEKLY EVENTS
Euchre hosted by the 55 Plus Club is played every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Stittsville Main Street. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The “Acoustic Jam Night” that is held in the Legion Hall will meet on Wednesday’s from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event is open to everyone. No percussion allowed, for more information e-mail Brenda Hamilton at singersoloist@sympatico.ca or call her at 613-286-9173.

An “Open Mic and sing-along” with Bill Martin is held every Friday starting at 8 p.m. in the downstairs lounge at the Legion Hall. Come and enjoy some country and rock n roll music. There is NO cover charge.

The knitting/crochet club will meet at the Legion Hall every Monday at 6:30 p.m. except for holidays. For more information contact June Warner at 613-836-1167.

There will be NO Friday dinners during the months of November and December. If you would like to help please e-mail Diane Doran.

COMING EVENTS
The “FREE” Senior Seminar at the Legion Hall will be held on Thursday, December 7th starting at 11 a.m. The topic will be on the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood . Manon Bourbeau will be the speaker. A light lunch will follow. Everyone welcome.

On December 16th Christmas Gift exchange and Pot Luck Supper will be held at the Legion starting at 5 p.m. “Karaoke” with “Forever Friends” will be held later. Santa will be there.

Bring in the New Year with Party and Dinner on December 31st starting with cocktails at 5:30 with dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at the Legion Bar for $50.00 per person. Live band to follow with “Bustin Loose”

January 1st The Legion will host an Open House with live music with the “Diplomats starting at 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a light snack.

MEMBERSHIPS
Membership’s are due. December 1st the cost is $55.00
