Motorcycle Ride for Autism on July 8

Ottawa’s annual Motorcycle Ride for Autism kicks off on July 8 at 9:00am at Brown’s Independent.  Mayor Jim Watson will be on hand to see the riders off on a route that will take them through Merrickville, Smith Falls, Perth, Westport Carleton Place, and back to Stittsville.

The event has raised over $60,000 in the last four years to help kids with autism through Quickstart, charitable organization whose mission is to assist children with autism in reaching their full potential by helping the children obtain early intervention, at the first signs of autism. QuickStart raises awareness and initiates programs to cut wait-times, build capacity, and promote improvements in early identification and intervention.
