About 200 people braved the snowy weather for Sacred Heart High School’s Tree Lighting Ceremony. The fourth annual event is quickly becoming a community tradition.
Those in attendance were treated to performances by the Sacred Heart Concert Band, the Senior Choir, the Grade 7/8 Girls’ Youth Choir, the 7/8 Only Boys Aloud Choir, the Grade 10 Quintet and both of the school’s string ensembles.
As the Christmas Tree was lit, the atrium was filled with song as a nativity scene made up of high school students stood to the side.
After the ceremony, guests were treated to hot chocolate, cake, cookie decorating, Christmas crafts, story-telling and even writing letters to Santa (who made an appearance shortly after).
Overall, the ceremony was a success in bringing the community together in the spirit of Christmas!
