Last Wednesday morning, the Grassroot Grannies, a group of 23 retired women, left Bushtakah on Hazeldean Road on a three-day fundraising bike tour.
They rode over 200km and ended up at the Bushtakah in Westboro on Friday afternoon, and managed to raise $55,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, providing support for and showing solidarity with African grandmothers and their orphaned grandchildren.
