Last Saturday, November 25, The Bridge Church was filled with music and children’s laughter as Music for Young Children® presented their annual Rhythm Festival.
Children ages 3 and up arrived with their families ready to perform various songs from their repertoire, practiced and polished to share with an audience. Over 190 students and 8 teachers from around Ottawa and the valley (including many from Stittsville) performed throughout the day. The event was adjudicated by seasoned percussionist and drum builder, Leo Brooks of Treefrog Percussion.
Music for Young Children®, a proudly Canadian-created music curriculum, began in 1980 and has been bringing the pleasure and the joy of music making to children and families ever since. Music for Young Children® is the only child-centred music-learning system that integrates keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, music theory and composition.
Great work, guys!
