The Ottawa Police Service is currently investigating a shooting that took place on the 30th day of March 2018. At approximately 9:30PM, three males were driving a compact 4 door black Volkswagon sedan westbound on Highway 417.
After exiting off the highway on the westbound off ramp at Eagleson Road and turning south at the lights, their vehicle was approached from behind by an unknown vehicle with LED headlights. At this time, multiple shots were fired into the victims’ vehicle, striking two passengers.
The suspect vehicle with LED headlights fled the area southbound on Eagleson Road and the vehicle containing the victims immediately got back on Highway 417 and drove westbound to the Centrum Plaza in search of a place of safety and to call 911. Police located both victims in the Centrum Plaza and they were transported to hospital where they both remain in stable condition.
The Guns & Gangs Unit is asking any potential witnesses to this shooting, particularly anyone in the area of the westbound off ramp at Eagleson Road and Highway 417 last night at 9:30PM that witnessed the shooting, to contact them at (613) 236-1222 Ext 5050.
This shooting was a targeted incident where it appears the victims were followed and is not associated and/or related to the Centrum Plaza or the shooting at the Centrum Plaza in September 2017.
