A local study working group was formed with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) in the fall of 2019 in follow-up to the Ministry of Education March 2018 announcement of capital funding for a new high school in Stittsville. The purpose of the working group is to consider possible attendance boundaries, the school’s opening grade structure, and other associated changes.
The working group has now completed its part of the process and supports moving moving forward to the next stage of the study process — public consultation.
As a standard format, public consultation meeting is not possible due to the impact of COVID-19, so an alternate format is being used. Public consultation will now be commencing virtually beginning on May 11, 2020.
The study group and OCDSB are asking for the public to visit their website – ocdsb.ca/stittsville – to watch the video and view the draft recommendation report, FAQ updates and other pertinent information.
There are two ways in which you can provide your feedback: by email at newstittsvilless.study@ocdsb.ca or take part in the Thoughtexchange link on the OCDSB webpage.
This is an important consultation that affects your children and it is encouraged that you participate with your feedback and questions regarding the draft staff recommendation. Please provide your input by June 10, 2020. It will then be reviewed and assist staff with their final recommendation report scheduled for presentation to the Board at the June 22, 2020 meeting for the final study decisions.
