A moving candlelit ceremony capped off day of celebrations to open Stittsville’s new Peace Park, a project organized by the Rotary Club in partnership with the City of Ottawa’s Better Neighbourhoods Program.
The centrepiece of the new park is a stone labyrinth, designed as a “contemplative path” for walking meditation. The Rotary Club says it’s “inclusive and non-denominational and is an easy way for people to centre and calm themselves.”
Rotary Clubs are found all over the globe and their goal is “to create positive, lasting change” in their communities.

Thanks so much for your wonderful photography of the labyrinth at the peace park opening ceremonies. I have created many luminary labyrinths over the years and you have captured this creation so beautifully. I love creating them and offering them to the public and the joy and passion you have captures is amazing. The public dancing is so inspiring, I will share these photos with the Sacred Dance Guild and tomorrow morning at Stittsville United Church at morning worship. Thanks, what a blessing. Lots of love Ruth (Labyrinth facilitator and Youth worker at Stittsville United Church.
A wonderful contribution to your lovely community. It couldn’t happen without the combined efforts of dedicated Rotarians.
CONGRATULATIONS !
