Rte 62 OC Transpo operator has tested positive for COVID-19

OC Transpo (OCT) has confirmed this evening that a bus operator has tested positive for COVID-19. The operator last worked on May 24 and began experiencing symptoms on May 25 and operated Route 62 Tunney’s Pasture to Terry Fox. The operator received the COVID-19 test on May 27 and continues to self-isolate at home. To protect the privacy of the individual, the name is not being released.

OC Transpo is working directly with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) and are conducting contact tracing of individuals who have, or may have been, in close contact with the employee.

OPH has advised that the key dates are the period 48 hours prior to the first day the employee showed symptoms; in this case, the key dates are May 23 and 24. OPH is following up with family and friends who may have been in close contact with the individual. OCT has begun to contact employees who may have come into close contact with this bus operator during those key dates.

The operator was onboard three buses on the key dates, affecting the following routes:

• Route 6: Springland/Maple Lane 9:19 pm to Greenboro Station 10:17 pm
• Route 6: Greenboro Station 10:43 pm to Springland/Maple Lane 11:33 pm
• Route 6: Springland/Maple Lane 11:49 pm to Greenboro Station 12:46 am

May 24, 2020
