Saunders Farm in Munster have taken it upon themselves to implement a vaccination policy for staff and visitors to their upcoming Pumpkin Season and/or Frightfest at Saunders Farm, or The Sawmill at Lansdowne. Management have stated in a press release that, “ALL guests and staff who are eligible for a vaccine MUST be fully vaccinated,” and have asked their employees to be fully vaccinated by September 24th. Visitors to the Farm must have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine 14 days prior to attending any fall or winter event.

Mark Saunders, Director of Fun at Saunders Farm, told Stittsville Central, “We met with our team and we decided together that we would feel most comfortable knowing that all of our co-workers and guests were vaccinated. It’s been an extremely difficult year for our community and we wanted to honour all of their sacrifices by hosting the safest event possible. We hope this will inspire more people to get fully vaccinated so we can get back to normal.”

The implemented policy includes the request for guests to prove the status of their vaccination either digitally or with a paper copy prior to entering any event; and, a mask must be worn at inside events (like the Haunt) where physical distancing is not possible, with the exception being when eating, drinking, or for other medical needs.

Saunders Farm have stated clearly on their website, “Should you be frustrated by these policies, we appreciate that frustration (as small business owners the last 18 months have been nothing short of frustrating for us, as well) but ask that you remain respectful of our decisions and policies; ultimately, we are following best practices outlined by the province, our local health authorities, and those of similar events and festivals being operated in our city this fall and winter.”

If visitors have already purchased tickets to any of the Saunders Farm fall or winter events, “please let us know and we will gladly hold your tickets into 2022, no questions asked.” Also, if you have questions about specific scenarios, please send an email to info@saundersfarm.com.

Their Pumpkin Season and Frightfest run from September 15 until October 31st. The Country Christmas day and night events begin on November 27, 2021 and run until January 2, 2022. The Sawmill Haunt, that takes you through the ruins of the demolished south stands at Landsdowne Park, runs for the month of October (but is 90% sold out!).

Saunders Farm have been bringing their hauntings and farm fun to our community for 30 years. Help them continue to bring us these exciting events for another 30 by following their health protocols to keep everyone safe.
