Seeking out volunteers at annual Volunteer Expo – October 2nd

For over sixty years, Volunteer Ottawa (VO), has been the leader in helping people make meaningful differences in our city. VO has supported charitable and non-profit organizations through the connection of volunteers to give of their time while serving their community.

If you are seeking a volunteer opportunity, VO annually brings these organizations together at Ottawa’s only Volunteer Expo. The Expo provides the chance for you to meet with non-profit organization representatives to learn where volunteer help is required and they in turn can interview prospective volunteers from our community to fit the need.

Children and youth, immigrants, refugees and new Canadians, indigenous peoples, seniors, persons with disabilities, the homeless, the hungry, the disadvantaged, people with medical conditions, and many other causes are served by these charitable and non-profit organizations. They rely heavily on volunteers to serve the community and this Volunteer Expo is key to securing those volunteers.

This year’s Expo is taking place Wednesday, October 2, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Ottawa City Hall located at 110 Laurier Avenue, West.

Volunteer Ottawa welcomes anyone who has an interest in volunteering. Whether it is a passion for a particular cause, want to help the City’s vulnerable populations or are interested in building career related skills and gaining experience, the Expo may have an opportunity for you. People can register to attend on our website or just show up.
