SMHA-GGHA teams parading their way through Stittsville for food bank donations

We all know the importance that food banks play in the lives of many. The Stittsville RAMS and the Goulbourn Girls Hornets hockey teams recognize the need to keep the shelves stocked at the Stittsville Food Bank. The teams have come together to host a Hockey Fundraiser to fill the shelves this Saturday, May 16 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Scott Phelan, President of the SMHA told us, “During these difficult times, there is no better way to feel better than helping others who need it more than we do!”

Hockey volunteers from both teams will be parading through Stittsville’s streets to collect the donations made by residents. It is so easy to participate, just place your donation in a closed bag marked ‘FOOD BANK’ along the parade route and it will be picked up by team members. Non-perishables and financial donations are being accepted.

You can also drop off your donations to volunteers standing by at the Johnny Leroux Arena and CardelRec Center (GRC) parking lots from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

The route starts at Trustee M. Curry Park on Hartsmere Drive at 11:00 am and from there it will wind through the following streets in the order listed:
