The Stittsville Business Association (SBA) will be holding their Annual General Meeting on March 22, 2022 at which they will be seeking to fill nine board positions from their membership.
Whether you are a small, medium, large, freelance or home-based business, the SBA rallies support for and promotes our local business community through social media, their website, regular meetings and one-on-one meet-ups with business owners to hear their concerns. In 2021, along with City of Ottawa funding, the SBA members contributed to the installation of banners along Stittsville Main Street to create another avenue of publicity.
The board and members of SBA realize the struggle that our businesses have faced in light of the COVID-19 restrictions over the past two years. As business owners themselves, they share information from many resources such as available business funding programs. The SBA recently joined the Ottawa Board of Trade (OBT) to expand resources and support available to our local businesses, while also receiving the benefits and exposure as an OBT member.
Only current voting members of the Stittsville Business Association are eligible to stand for election or vote for the Board of Directors as determined by SBA’s membership list as of February 1, 2022. Deadline for nominations to the Board from the membership must be received by 4:00p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022. The positions currently vacant are:
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- 6 Directors-at-Large
The meeting will be held virtually on March 22, it begins at 7:30pm. To discover more about the SBA or to become a member, visit www.stittsvilleba.ca.
