Stittsville Knights of Columbus go online with fundraisers

The Stittsville Knights of Columbus have created two charity fundraisers for the community to participate in and they are both onlineAll proceeds will be donated to various Stittsville community charities, the Ontario Special Olympics and Arthritis Canada.

The first fundraiser, and the longest running for 40 years, is the annual Knights of Columbus Ontario Charity Lottery draw. The ever-popular lottery has over 500 prizes and the Grand Prize is $200,000 in cash. Just a few of the other prizes are — 2020 Ford Mustang Convertible, 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab 4WD, 2020 Princecraft Vectra 19′ Pontoon Boat, 2020 Harley Davidson Road King Motorcycle, 2020 Jayco Flight SLX trailer with many other cash prizes up for grabs. The chances of winning are 1:40!

Tickets are now available online and can be purchased at  https://bit.ly/Knightscharity. Tickets are $5.80 each plus $1.60 shipping fee. When you purchase a multitude of tickets the $1.60 fee is only applied once. Just think, you don’t have to leave your house to purchase your tickets and they will be delivered right to your mailbox in one to two weeks. The draw takes place on October 30, 2020.

The second fundraiser will be a special tribute to Mother’s Day 2020 Quarantine. Normally reserved for ‘Rose Sunday’ during Lent celebrations, the Knights were not able to offer the Rose adhesive patches for 2020.

The Knights have decided to offer the ‘Rose of Hope’ to all for a Mother’s Day gift. The program is designed to increase awareness of the Culture of Life. Many of us have either a Mother in memory, a Mother far away, or a Mother we cannot hold this year and the Rose of Hope can be a way to show your love and memories.

The ‘Rose of Hope’ is a small adhesive Rose that can be worn on a lapel or attached to anything.

The ‘Rose of Hope’ is available at https://bit.ly/RoseofHope and the Knights are asking for a $5.00 donation to cover shipping. You may choose the address to whom you wish the rose shipped and each rose shipped will include the meaningful description of the ‘Rose of Hope’.

Joseph Carbonetto, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus 12249 Stittsville, shared with us, “These times define us, who we are and what we do. We strive to leave no neighbor behind and bring hope to all.”

Now is the time to help those in need by purchasing your lottery ticket and also to share the ‘Rose of Hope’ with those who mean so much – our mothers.
