Stittsville Lions holding Case for Cure bottle drive to benefit kids with Diabetes

November is Diabetes Month in Canada. With this in mind, the Stittsville District Lions Club is holding their bottle drive for Camp Banting this Saturday, November 7 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Camp Banting is a summer camp located along the shores of the Ottawa River that enables children to enjoy the great outdoors and camp life while living with Diabetes. The children need the camp to help them understand Diabetes and know they are not the only child living with this disease.

For 66 years, Camp Banting has been an independent and non-profit organization. The camp operates through partnerships formed with CHEO, Lions Clubs of Canada and the Bonnenfant YMCA-YWCA Outdoor Education and Leadership Centre.

From the collection of your cans, plastics, wine, liquor and wine bottles on November 7th, your donations will help raise the money necessary to send a child with Diabetes to camp.

The bottle drive will take place at the Lions Hall on Stittsville Main Street. If you would like to know more, call 613-836-4964 or send an email to info@stittsvillelions.com.
