(via 1st Stittsville Scout Group)
The Uniformed Youth of Stittsville’s Scout Sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) and Guide Units (Sparks, Brownies, Guides, and Pathfinders) will be going door-to-door over four nights, April, 11th to 14th, collecting non-perishable food items and/or cash donations for the benefit of the Stittsville Food Bank. The generosity of Stittsville residents is once again being counted on to ensure the success of this food drive.
The Spring Food Drive is a necessity to re-fill the shelves of the Stittsville Food Bank after a long winter……unfortunately hunger is year round.
The youth should not be knocking/ringing on doors past 8:30pm, but enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of time keeping. Please put a clear notice on your front door (near the bell) if you don’t want to be disturbed and canned goods outside your door (if you wish), but please bear in mind the above mentioned enthusiasm of the youth if they miss the sign.
