Stittsville has been and is home to many incredible musicians. One who shines is Grace Lachance. Grace has recently released an EP – When Lightning Strikes – produced with New York City based Julie Kathryn. Rapper G.Grand features on the EP, with Toronto based pop singer Kayla Diamond co-writing the song – No Sound.
You will no doubt recall that at only 15 years of age, Grace was named the winner of the 2015 She’s The One contest at Ottawa Bluesfest.
Grace has a distinctive sound that is all her own. Her songwriting and voice combined suggest maturity beyond her years. Packed with natural talent, she was recognized as an up and coming artist from her many performances around Ottawa and especially appreciated in Stittsville.
In 2016, Grace teamed up with Universal Music Canada to release her debut single, an emotional cover of Kodaline’s “All I Want”. She received the BellMedia Rising Star award for her song “Anymore” that attracted much attention from the Canadian radio music industry. This warranted her two #1 titles on AC Radio, seizing the coveted position for most added song and the Futures spot.
She will be touring in select cities across Ontario including Ottawa and Toronto. She will perform in Montreal and then it’s off to Australia to share her talent with that country.
Small town roots have certainly not held Grace back from disclosing her talent – something that every musician can only dream of.
