Support Stittsville mom Tammy Rydholm at fundraiser on September 26

Young, vibrant and battling the fight of her life. Tammy Rydholm has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized melanoma in both of her lungs. It is incurable.

A single Mom, who loves her two teen aged daughters (Symona and Alexandra) more than anything, is not alone in this battle. With family members living outside of Ontario, her friends have come together to support and raise funds for their loving friend and her girls. Tammy is self-employed as a house cleaner so has no extended health coverage or benefits from her employment that many can fall back on in times like this.

With this uphill battle, Tammy’s friends want to do all they can to make her journey as comfortable and stress free as is possible and enable her to spend quality time with her daughters – especially in these early days of the diagnosis. In that vein, they are holding a fundraiser to support the family.

On September 26, you can help Tammy by attending a fundraiser organized by Jeni Sandeman Felhaber taking place at The Glen Scottish Pub and Restaurant in Stittsville from 5:30 – 10:00 pm. There will be live music, great raffle prizes, a 50/50 draw and lots of coming together. More information can be found on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/2430607613878229/.

Erin Nazarali, a Manager at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation told Stittsville Central, “Tammy is a self-employed single mother and her friends have organized this event to support her and her daughters as she is unable to work right now and faces some pretty intense treatments to slow down the spread of her cancer”. Although the event does not directly support the Cancer Foundation, they wanted to ensure that the importance of this event to the family was shared with Tammy’s community of Stittsville. All donations will go directly to Tammy and her family.

For those who cannot attend, there is a GoFundMe page set-up by her friends to support Tammy as she goes through this menacing disease of cancer. Please consider donating to help Tammy in her fight — it will be gratefully appreciated by her and her friends.
