Monday, June 15 is packed with three separate public meetings of interest to Stittsville residents.
- Public meeting re: Site Plan Control for the expansion of the Carp Road Landfill. At the Carp Agricultural Building, 3790 Carp Rd starting at 6:30 m.– 8:30 p.m. Councillor El-Chantiry will be in attendance, along with city staff, Waste Management representatives and personnel from the FoTenn Consulting The public comment period is ongoing until June 25. - Winter Parking Restrictions: At the Glen Cairn Community Centre (Upper Hall), 186 Morrena in Kanata. Councillor Allan Hubley, in conjunction with the west end Councillors, will be holding a meeting about winter parking restrictions.
The purpose of this open house is to engage the public on proposed changes to the Winter Overnight Parking provisions of the Traffic and Parking By-law. The session will include a presentation by City staff and a question period. Residents are invited to provide comments on how parking bans are communicated to the public, enforcement of the by-law, on- and off-street parking options during a winter parking ban, and criteria for implementing an overnight parking ban. A report will be presented to the Transportation Committee and Council in October 2015 with recommended amendments to the By-law. - Mosquitos: At All Saints Catholic High School in the small gym, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Nick Stow – Planner and Wild Life Expert with the City of Ottawa, will be discussing the pros and cons of trying to get rid of mosquitoes and the affects that taking out part of the food chain can have on an ecosystem. D.G. Environment is having a representative come and present about a biological product that helps to control nuisance mosquitoes.
