On August 11, 2019 the Stittsville Minor Softball Association’s U16 Bantam Girls Tier II Rep team competed in the Provincial Women’s Softball Association’s (“PWSA”) Provincial Championships, winning the bronze medal in the “A” pool, and earning them an invitation to represent Ontario in the Eastern Canadian Softball Championships, August 22-25, 2019.

In the past 15+ years, an Ottawa team has only qualified for this level of elite competition three times – and these hard-working athletes and dedicated coaches have been working together 3-4 times a week to become the best they can be and proudly represent Stittsville at this year’s Canadian championship.

This team is made up of female athletes between the age of 14 and 16 who have been training together since the winter months for their 2019 competitive season. In addition to fastball, these amazing athletes are involved in a number of other competitive sports including hockey, volleyball, basketball, curling and karate. Some also have part-time jobs and volunteer in addition to being high performing students and leaders in their community.

The team is very excited to embark on this incredible journey together.

Their first game is Thursday, August 22 against Quebec in Whitby, Ontario.

Good luck 56ers! Stittsville is cheering you on.
