Village Association to hold all-candidates debate for Stittsville Sept. 23

The Stittsville Village Association will hold a debate for Stittsville’s school board and city council candidates on Sept. 23 from 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at the Stittsville United Church.

Former Goulbourn Township councillor Louise Beggs (and first SVA president) will moderate the Q&A.

The debate will begin with trustees at 6 p.m. There are five trustees running in Zone 1 for the public board, which corresponds with the Stittsville area. For the Catholic board, John Curry won by acclamation as the sole candidate running. A list of candidates is available on ottawa.ca.

The floor will be turned over to city council candidates at approximately 7:15 p.m. There are two candidates vying to represent Stittsville at 110 Laurier: Glen Gower, who is the publisher of this newspaper, and Shad Qadri.

  1. We should also mention that the French School Board Trustees are invited to the Q & A at the Stittsville United Church.
