In April 2019, an inspiration that Chinelo Houron carried with her for years came to fruition when she opened the doors to The Thirsty Maiden in Kanata South. Chi (her nickname) is now opening another set of doors on October 1, 2021. Chi will be opening Village Envy – a Bohemian themed boutique – on Stittsville Main at Abbott.
The Bohemian atmosphere that Chi envisioned was noticed on our visit to Village Envy. From the moment you enter the cozy boutique, you feel the ambience with the displays of small artworks, unique dried flowers and varied home decor. From the eclectic collection of clothing for every occasion, in all styles, shapes and colours; to footwear and accessories, you are sure to find something that says ‘you’. This editor couldn’t believe how reasonable the prices are!
Chi told Stittsville Central on our sneak peak visit, “I am excited to start this new journey with the opening of a bricks and mortar boutique right here in Stittsville. The clothing has been specially selected for the everyday consumer and at a price point all can afford. With no clothing shops or boutiques in Stittsville, there was a void to fill. I look forward to meeting Stittsville customers and assisting them to find the perfect item of clothing or outfit.”
Looking for a gift for someone special, a friend or family member, the boutique has a good selection of smaller home decor items – scented candles, dried flower arrangements, pillows, signs – to name just a few. Or, you can pick-up a hair accessory, perhaps a piece of costume jewellery, you are sure to find the perfect gift at Village Envy.
Chi is one busy woman, with her ownership and management of The Thirsty Maiden in Kanata, her role as secretary on the executive of the Stittsville Business Association, her new business endeavours in Stittsville – Village Envy and Ritual on Main – and most importantly, she is a new Mom.
With Chi’s perseverance and attention to detail, it is no surprise that she has ventured, yet again, into a new direction with her boutique – we welcome her to Stittsville.
Village Envy is celebrating its Grand Opening on Friday, October 1st at 10:00am. The first few customers will receive a gift with purchase and a 10% discount is offered to each customer for their purchase on opening day.
When you drop in on October 1st to welcome Chi and Village Envy to Stittsville, “you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find items you wouldn’t normally purchase for yourself. This brand is meant to bring people together of all shapes, colors and interests,” Chi points out. She looks forward to have you join ‘our tribe of inclusion and beauty’.
Although still under renovation, we can expect to see another set of doors open for Chi when Ritual on Main Coffeehouse opens in two or three weeks.
This is awesome news for Stiittsville!
