The Stittsville branch staff of the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) provided an update on programs for the kids and family. Passes for skiing and museums are arriving on December 14. An exciting new arrival at the Stittsville branch is a telescope.
This coming week, library card holders can place a hold on a telescope to watch the starry skies. The telescope can be checked out for 7 days starting on Monday, December 14. A great opportunity for the family to enjoy watching for meteors, seeing planets up close or the man in the moon! Telescopes will also be available from the Richmond and Carp branches.
As of December 14, you can pick-up your ski and trail passes, along with museum passes. The ski and trail passes are available as 1 per customer. There may be a limit of 1 museum pass per customer, but the Main Branch has not confirmed this detail yet. When this information becomes available, we will share with Stittsville residents.
Employees of the Ottawa Public Library have put together a stack of videos full of their handpicked favourites: songs, books, nursery rhymes and fun arts and crafts activities to brighten the holiday season for kids aged 2-7. A year-end present, Winter Words at Play is available on the OPL YouTube channel.
Thank you to the Stittsville Library, volunteers are anxious to get back to be with you all.
Merry Xmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and good health to all.
