The West Ottawa Soccer Club (WOSC) announced today that Bjorn Osieck will be exploring new career opportunities in the New Year. He will continue to serve the Club until January 31, 2015.
Mr. Osieck’s move is part of a planned exit that has been informed by a year-long strategic planning and governance modernization review that is now reaching its conclusion. Based on these initiatives, the Club looks forward to identifying and working with a GM to pursue the Club’s key priorities.
During Mr. Osieck’s tenure as Club CEO, he has been responsible for the successful completion of several key initiatives, including the achievement of OSA Gold Level Club Excellence, and the attainment of an Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) franchise.
“We are deeply grateful to Bjorn for the professional leadership, care and attention that he has given the Club over the last two years. He has been instrumental in assisting the Club in its journey, and we wish him well as he explores new opportunities”, said Club President Brian Mason.
“It was a great privilege for me to lead an outstanding staff team of very talented WOSC Warriors and work with a passionate Board of Directors as the Club’s inaugural CEO,” added Osieck. “Together we can proudly look back on a number of milestones achieved on and off the field of play, which will serve as an excellent spring board to move the Club towards its ambitious vision of being the leader in player development 4 life.”
We invite all members of the soccer community to view the GM job description on the WOSC website, and to share with your network as appropriate.
