The West Ottawa Soccer Club has released a new video featuring young soccer players telling what they love – and don’t love – about parents at soccer games.
“This candid and insightful window into what children and youth have experienced during soccer games illustrates the importance for parents to stay positive, not yell or provide instruction, and let the coaches do the coaching,” wrote programs co-ordinator Sue Holland in an email to parents.
“Being a parent of 3 boys who have played at various levels with WOSC I know your child’s coach appreciates the support that you provide on and off the pitch. After viewing this video, I am reminded how important it is for all adults in these athletes lives to be aligned around what matters most … for athletes to have the best possible experience while playing the beautiful game of soccer. Thank you for your ongoing support as we look to proactively support athletes in a positive way,” wrote Holland.
