Sometimes life can change in the blink of an eye. Such was the case for the Yakabuski family last month.
As many of you in the community may have heard Mark Yakabuski, 42, suffered a freak accident while golfing that resulted in a serious spinal injury.
Yakabuski, a father of three, is an active member of the Stittsville community and for the past ten years has tirelessly offered his time and energy to the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association.
Friends and family are organizing a fundraiser to help the family during this time of need. The event is being held Saturday, June 25th at Johnny Leroux Arena 7pm-midnight. The event will feature a live and silent auction with great prize items, live band, DJ and delectable treats.
Tickets are $50 each (includes admission and finger foods), and can be purchased at www.yakstrong.com. For those who are unable to purchase a ticket online please contact yakstronghq@gmail.com.
We encourage you to visit the website as there are a number of ways to offer your support, including the purchase of T-shirts, ball caps and rubber bracelets.
Anyone interested in donating an item for auction for the fundraiser is asked to contact Barbara.Foster@cma.ca
